According to the FTC, the average consumer who fell victim to text message scams lost $1,000 in 2022, resulting in total consumer losses of $330 million. Small business owners were hit even harder, losing a combined $660 million. In response to this alarming trend, we have developed an app designed to act as a vigilant spam sentinel.

Text Spam Arrest utilizes advanced AI technology to identify and block spam messages. The AI engine has undergone extensive training with the entire English vocabulary and has encountered a wide range of internet scams. These sophisticated features tackle the main sources of intrusion in your Messages inbox, including the top five areas highlighted by the FTC in 2022:

• Imposter Scams (posing as relatives or friends)
• Online Shopping
• Prizes, Sweepstakes, and Lotteries
• Investments
• Business and Job Opportunities

In addition, we have implemented message categorization for non-spam messages. Unfamiliar senders' messages are automatically sorted into distinct folders, enabling you to focus on relevant categories for more efficient message management.

The classification of messages from unknown senders includes:

• Promotions: Offers, promotions, rewards for products or services
• Transactions: All other messages falling under various subcategories:

• Finance: Banking, credit, debit transaction messages
• Orders: Purchase orders from platforms like Amazon or Walmart
• Reminders: Appointment or booking reminders
• Health: Messages from healthcare providers like doctors or dentists
• Weather: Alerts related to earthquakes or weather conditions
• Carrier: Notifications from internet or wireless service providers

To set up the app:

1. Install the app and navigate to Settings -> Messages -> Unknown & Spam.
2. Click on the "Filter Unknown Senders" button and select "Spam Arrest Filter."

Upon completion, access your Apple Messages app to view the organized folders mentioned above. Please note that spam filtering applies solely to SMS/MMS messages from unknown senders not saved in your contacts list. As per Apple's specifications, this functionality does not extend to iMessage content.
